Counselling Support in Ramsgate & Online – Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Grief, Burnout & Overwhelm

Counselling can be helpful at many different points in life — whether you’re feeling overwhelmed and anxious, struggling with stress or burnout, navigating grief or loss, or noticing long-standing patterns around self-esteem, depression, or emotional regulation. I offer counselling support in Ramsgate and online and I work with adults who are looking for a thoughtful, compassionate space to explore what’s going on for them. Below, you’ll find more detail about the different areas I commonly work with. Many people find their experiences don’t fit neatly into one category — and that’s always welcome here.

Anxiety, overwhelm, stress, burnout

Anxiety and chronic stress can show up in both mind and body and leave you feeling on edge, exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. Counselling offers a space to slow things down, make sense of what’s contributing to your overwhelm, and explore ways of responding with greater care and regulation. We can work at a pace that feels manageable for you, honouring your body’s need for regulation in the work.

Identity

Questions around identity can arise at many points in life, particularly during times of change, transition, or when parts of ourselves feel in conflict. Counselling can offer space to explore who you are, how you understand yourself, and how your experiences have shaped you. This may include identity in relation to culture, gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, or life roles.

Low self-esteem

Low self-esteem can develop over time through relationships, experiences, or long-standing patterns of self-criticism. Counselling can help you explore where these beliefs came from and how they continue to affect your life. We work towards a more compassionate and grounded relationship with yourself.

Grief and loss

Grief is not limited to bereavement and can arise from many kinds of loss, including changes in health, identity, relationships, or life circumstances. There is no right way to grieve, and experiences can be complex and non-linear. Counselling can offer steady support as you navigate this in your own time. There’s no deadline to grief, just a slow and steady integration.

Unpaid carers

Being an unpaid carer can be emotionally and physically demanding. It often leaves little space for your own needs. Counselling offers a confidential place where you don’t have to be “coping” or strong for others. This space is for you, your feelings, and the impact caring has on your life.

Chronic illness

Living with chronic illness can affect many aspects of life, including identity, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. Counselling provides space to explore the psychological and emotional impact of ongoing health conditions, without pressure to “stay positive” or minimise your experience. You are welcome to bring the full reality of living with illness and I will make adjustments to whatever needs you have in the room.

We all come to the counselling room with our own story to tell. As a counsellor, my aim is to come alongside you — to understand your experiences and to see the world as you do. Through my training and experience, I am able to work with clients from all walks of life, and my practice is grounded in being

  • trauma-informed
  • LGBTQIA+ affirming
  • neurodivergence-friendly
  • anti-racist
  • class-aware

This means offering a space where difference is respected. Context really matters, and I will meet you with care, curiosity, and compassion.
